Jacob Lishnoff
My goal as a clinician is to create a judgment-free space where clients can embrace their authenticity, grow in self-compassion, and continue developing curiosity about their lives.
By focusing on clients’ strengths, I believe they can build resilience and achieve goals that we create collaboratively.
Before beginning my path as a clinician, I received a degree in Drama and pursued a career in film, television, and theater for many years. I understand the ups and downs of following a career path in the arts and am passionate about working with clients in that field. I also value working with clients dealing with anxiety, relationship issues, and career transitions.
Clinically, my approach is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Existentialist Theory, with a background in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I have over ten years of experience with personal meditation practice rooted in Buddhism and enjoy supporting clients’ healing through this lens, if desired. Through meditation practice, I have learned to let difficult emotions be present rather than push them away. Through exploring the sensations these feelings create in the body, they tend to dissipate without struggle.
